WHERE INNOVATION FLOURISHES
At Don Michael, the artisans of the House are committed to selecting the finest ingredients and developing complex and innovative crafting techniques to create spirits of unparalleled quality and unique Andean character. This is the hallmark of the “Andean Spirits” craftsmanship at the Don Michael distillery. The distillery is a new iteration of this philosophy, inheriting Michael Kuryla’s vision of challenge and pursuit of excellence
ANDEAN BLACK CORN
Peru is a country rich in culture and history, especially when it comes to ancient grains. Fifty-five different varieties of corn are native to Peru. We are fortunate to have found a variety of Andean Black Corn that grows at over 10,000 feet above sea level and produces incredible whiskey.
New Standards Bringing Clarity
It is very easy to describe:
“IMPRESSIVE”
Our distillery has three different production lines and four different stills. Our first production line is primarily used for testing and developing new products. Our 1000-liter line is mainly used for making gin, while our 10,000-liter line is the workhorse of the distillery. From grain to glass, at Don Michael, everything is done in-house, using only the best of the best.
SPRING WATER
Water is the foundation of everything we do here at Don Michael. Our water source is the Lurín underground aquifer, which originates from the Andes Mountains and flows directly beneath our distillery.
