We have the privilege of presenting a whiskey like no other. Black Whiskey is made from the iconic Peruvian purple corn and national wheat, along with the purest water. After a double distillation in a traditional copper pot still, it is matured to perfection in first-use American white oak barrels. This is Black Whiskey.
The first and best Andean Whiskey®.
BLACK WHISKEY
ANDEAN BLACK CORN WHISKEY
The name comes from the Gaelic term “uisge beatha,” which means “Water of Life”; although the true origins of whiskey remain a mystery.
Black Whiskey and the idea of using Andean Black Corn stem from the ancient Andean technique of making a homemade beer called Chicha de Jora. At Don Michael, we have refined this process by adding malted grains to soften the flavor and implemented a state-of-the-art distillation facility to provide the world with a unique Andean Whiskey in the form of Black Whiskey.
The first and best Andean Whiskey®.
APPEARANCE
It presents an amber, caramel color, bright and clean, with intense legs.
NOSE
At first nose, toasted corn notes are felt, with hints of vanilla and a smoky finish. As the minutes pass, dehydrated dried fruits, chestnuts, raisins, and apricots begin to emerge. In the end, notes of coconut, bitter chocolate, coffee, and caramel remain.
PALATE
The first contact on the palate is intense, with an alcoholic sensation present. By the second sip, it becomes much more gentle, and a few drops of water lighten the alcoholic feeling. Gradually, a background of spices emerges, with cinnamon and cardamom standing out. It is an intense whiskey with a lot of personality, a bitter hint, and delicate acidity.
